Relax The Back is joining leading U.S. mattress manufacturer Atomic Global, Inc., on it’s humanitarian initiative, The WorldBed Project. The company is launching a company wide promotion “Buy a Bed, Give a Bed” to raise money and awareness for the delivery of up to 200,000 field beds to displaced Haitians following the January 12th earthquake near Port-au-Prince.
As part of the program, for every Atomic Global mattress purchased at Relax The Back, the store will donate one WorldBed to someone in need in Haiti. Additionally, clients will have an opportunity to purchase WorldBed products at a cost of $35 each to be delivered to the relief effort.

No need to worry – it has nothing to do with ultraviolet radiation (which gives you a sunburn and damages your skin). Radiant heat is simply a form of energy that heats objects directly through a process called conversion, without having to heat the air in between. Radiant heat is also called infrared energy. Back Pain During Pregnancy

Many pregnant woman suffer from back pain for 3 reasons:
1. Weight gain – Woman may gain as much as 25% of their body weight during pregnancy, adding pressure to the spine.
2. Shifting center of gravity – As the baby grows, the mother carries more weight in the front. This changes how the muscles are used and can lead pain and fatigue.
3. Hormonal changes – Certain hormones relax the joints for the birthing process which affects the way the ligaments and joints support the body.
Some tips for pregnancy-related back pain relief.
• Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees.
• Use a lumbar cushion when sitting to better support the inward curve in the lower back.
• Maintain correct posture. Straighten your spine so your ears, shoulders and hips are in a straight line whenever possible.

INVERSION THERAPY

Doctors have known about inversion therapy for years, but only recently are they beginning to more completely understand all the benefits derived from it. At Relax The Back we’ve always known about it and now the word is spreading.
Researchers at Newcastle University in England have released the results of a study that shows the regular use of inversion therapy may significantly reduce the need for back surgery. The study was conducted on a group of patients who had all been told they needed sciatic operations. The group was divided in half with one half practicing regular inversion therapy while the other half received traditional therapy. The study showed that the patients who inverted were 70% less likely to require surgery.
